Irish Drift Championships – Round 2 – 20-21st May 2017 #DriftontheDocks

The Irish Drift Championship brings Round 2 of the championships #DriftOntheDocks to Dun Laoghaire

May 20th & 21st 2017.

See the sneak peek here

Drifting is the fastest growing motorsport in the world and combines the most exhilarating and exciting elements of multiple disciplines to create one heart-stopping show.

Drifting is a high-skill, high-powered motorsport that calls for drivers to control a 200hp to 1,000hp car while it slides sideways at high speed through a marked course. It is a similar to rallying, but on a closed, compact and spectator-focused course and is judged on execution, style and speed rather than on who finishes the course fastest.

Drifting takes all the thrilling moments and challenges from traditional motorsports and packs them together into non-stop competition where 120 drivers must battle head-to-head in order to find a winner.

It is incredibly difficult to master, extremely dangerous and rewards only the most naturally skilled competitors. It is very much the chosen motorsport of the new generation and is currently the most-watched and followed motorsport in Ireland.

The Irish Drift Championship is the only professional drift series in Ireland and is currently regarded as one of the world’s best in terms of popularity, presentation and driver talent. The championship is now entering its 13th consecutive season, witnessing dramatic growth in attendance and viewership in recent years.
