Statement from The Ball Festival

It is with great regret and sadness that we wish to inform our attendees that despite our best efforts to grow The Ball and deliver a unique Student Only Festival on a bigger and better scale than last year, we have unfortunately made the hard decision not to proceed with this year’s event.

We set out to deliver the best possible end of year experience for the students of Ireland, with top global talent and at an affordable price. Unfortunately, as an independent promoter in a competitive market, we were unable to secure our complete line-up. While there has been great feedback from students and our partner SUs over the last number of months, this has unfortunately not been reflected in ticket sales and ultimately this has resulted in us being unable to proceed with The Ball as planned for Friday 27th April 2018 in Dun Laoghaire.

For those who have already purchased their tickets, we would like to thank you for supporting us from the get-go and we are saddened that on this occasion we could not follow through in giving you the experience that we had hoped. We will be issuing refunds to all ticket purchasers from Thursday 19th April.

Tickets purchased online will be refunded directly via Eventbrite and you will receive an email notification once it has been issued.

For those who purchased tickets via their SU in DIT or UCD, please look out for details of arrangements for on-campus points of refund from your respective SU, which will be available from Thursday 19th April.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who bought tickets, our partner Student Unions, all of the Artists, Sponsors, Dun Laoghaire Harbour Co. and everyone else who has supported The Ball.

We are currently reviewing our options regarding The Ball Festival 2019, aiming to deliver a festival for students that builds on the quality and experience as seen last year. In the meantime we would like to thank you for your patience and should you have any queries, please feel free to contact us via Facebook chat or hello@theball.ie
