Popertee is an online marketplace connecting property owners who have spare space with businesses and brand managers who are looking to rent retail spaces on a short-term or “pop-up” basis.

The Harbour Company have five key areas which are unique to the market and fit in with the “popup” Popertee ethos.

  • The Harbour Events area is a 16,000 sq.m compound adjacent to the Ferry Terminal building.
  • The historic Carlisle Pier is 8,000 sq.m and overlooks the famous East Pier.
  • The Harbour Plaza area is 3,150 sq.m and adjacent to Marine Road and the busy Pavilion Café/Restaurant area.

Derek Lyons

Derek Lyons grew up in Dublin and graduated from Limerick Collage of Art & Design. Now living in Co. Wicklow he has become a big fan of “plein eir” painting. If he’s not in his studio painting he can be found with an easel and canvas in hand out and about painting the busy harbours or fantastic country side that surrounds him. (view website)

Roisin Duffy.

Painting in acrylic on canvas, Roisin’s subject matter is the ordinary and mundane things which are common us all – home, family, personal relationships, and how we interact with our friends, our animals, and the world around us.

Colour and balance are the most important aspects of her work. Deceptive in its initial simplicity, each piece tells a story, and in writing an accompanying poem for every piece she shares with the viewer not just the finished painting, but also the deeper emotional story behind it. (view website)

Thursday 21st April 2016:    The KBC Laser Radial Worlds (Youth and Men’s 2016 World Championships) was launched at a special event in Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company’s historic Harbour Lodge today. This is the first time Ireland will host this prestigious sailing World Championship which, according to Eithne Scott-Lennon, Chairperson, Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company “will showcase Dún Laoghaire Harbour on the international sailing stage”.   Up to 400 competitors from more than 35 nations will compete in this World Championship Series which will generate €2.5m for the local economy.

KBC Bank Ireland is the title sponsor of this prestigious sailing event which takes place in Dún Laoghaire harbour from 23rd to 30th July and will be hosted by The Royal St. George Yacht Club and Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company.  The event is supported by Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and Fáilte Ireland.

Eithne Scott-Lennon, Chairperson, Dun Laoghaire Harbour Company said, “This summer Dún Laoghaire Harbour will be the first Irish host of the eagerly awaited KBC Laser Radial Youth & Men’s World Championships. The Harbour Company along with the Dún Laoghaire Yacht Clubs formed a small group in 2013 to promote the harbour as a location for International Sailing Events. We are delighted that the 2016 ‘KBC Laser Radial Worlds’ is a direct result of that initiative.

David Kelly, Chairman of the KBC Laser Radial Worlds said, “This is a significant achievement and an exciting milestone in the sailing history of Dún Laoghaire.    Apart from the financial benefits locally, it is a unique opportunity to showcase our beautiful harbour and everything Dún Laoghaire has to offer.   We are looking forward to some top-class sailing and to welcoming all our competitors from all over the world.”
