Read this so you’re ready for take-off… Everything you need to know from time, place to access.

Red Bull Flugtag will take place in Dún Laoghaire Harbour on Sunday 20th May. This free family event will start at 12.00pm and run until approximately 4.30pm.

Where is the best place to watch Red Bull Flugtag?

All of the crafts will be launched from Carlisle Pier and the best spot to watch the show will be from the East Pier in Dún Laoghaire.

To ensure best viewing for all, a number of large TV screens will be positioned throughout the event area.

How do I get to the East Pier?

There will be signage throughout Dún Laoghaire, directing you to the viewing area.

From Dún Laoghaire DART Station, walk along Queen’s Road towards the East Pier.

From Dún Laoghaire town centre, you need to walk down Marine Road and turn onto Queen’s Road towards the East Pier.

Is there a viewing area for persons with disability?

Yes, it will be located on Carlisle Pier. Entrance to the area is beside the Royal St. George Yacht club. Carlisle Pier is the pier that will have the Red Bull Flugtag ramp positioned on.

Parking for persons with disabilities is located to the side of the Royal St George Yacht Club (next to the ferry terminal building). Space is limited and will be on a first come first serve basis. When the parking has reached capacity, the area will be used as a drop off only.

Vehicular Traffic

Temporary signage will be placed by the road to advise motorists of impending diversions.

Road Closures

A Road Closure Order will be in place on the following roads between 11.30am and 5.30pm on Sunday, 20th May:

Harbour Road, in the area between the Roundabout at the Harbour Plaza and the East Pier, will be closed to vehicular access.

Westbound traffic on Newtownsmith will be directed to travel up Marine Terrace and Mellifont Avenue, in the direction of George’s Street.

Park Road will be closed to vehicular access.

Please remember the enjoyment of the other spectators. No tents, shade structures, beach umbrellas; so essentially no reserving of unattended areas or anything that would obstruct other people’s view. Just be sound!
Also, please remember the environment! No plastic sheeting/tarp on grass and no barbeques or sparklers. And finally please use the bins provided, or even better take it home to recycle!
